What exactly does Birth Assistant do?+
We are an independent consultancy. We explain the requirements, help you fill in a complete and accurate request, check it for mistakes and keep you updated until delivery.
Are you a government agency?+
No. We are a private service and are not affiliated with the Department of Internal Affairs. You are free to apply directly with the government without our help.
Which certificate should I choose?+
That depends on what you need it for. Passport and citizenship applications usually need a full certificate; a decorative design is popular as a gift. During your consult we help you pick the right one.
Can I apply for someone else?+
Yes. You can request a certificate for your child or another person, and you can add more birth certificate requests in the same application. You will be asked to confirm your own identity as the person ordering.
What if I was part of a multiple birth or my name changed?+
Let us know in the form. Twins, triplets and name changes are common, and our consultants know which extra details are needed.
What are the benefits of using your service?+
One clear form, a consultant who double-checks your details, plain-English answers to your questions and status updates by email.
How much does it cost?+
The consultancy service is NZ$ 24,95. Certificate requests are a separate service: Standard NZ$ 69.00, Forest or Beach NZ$ 79.00, with an optional additional Standard for NZ$ 30.00 when choosing Forest or Beach. No consultation is required to request a certificate.
How do I pay?+
Payment is handled through a secure checkout by Whop. We never see or store your card details.
